Chuck W Lovatt
Chuck is a good mate of mine from Canada with an absolutely class sense of humour. He is also a great writer, his book The Adventures of Charlie Smithers was a cracking read, a proper old school adventure in the style of Huckleberry Finn or Treasure Island. The links to it are here:
Here’s my review of it:
‘Charlie Smithers was not my usual type of read so it was a very pleasant surprise to discover this story. I liked the character of Charlie, an old-fashioned English gentleman, and the story got off to a cracking start after hair-raising encounters with an angry buffalo and some crocodiles.
The love story between Charlie and Loiyan was very well-written and had some genuinely poignant moments. There were some great action scenes, which had some very gory imagery and carried the story along nicely. The author used some great poetic descriptions as other reviewers have said. There are also a number of funny parts in the story, one in particular springs to mind when Charlie first wakes up after being taken by the tribe. This, and a few other moments, were genuine belly laughs.
All in all this was a fun story which I would heartily recommend.’
Chuck also has two stories in Wild Wolf’s Twisted Tails, a dark and disturbing anthology which I am also very proud to say features my short story, Semana de Fuego

Give him a go!
